Sign Guest Book Carlene Zimmerman Carlene Zimmerman, 73, passed away at her home in Excelsior Springs, Mo., June 4, 2008. Born January 14, 1935 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., she was the daughter of Samuel and Elsie (Piburn) McRorey. She was married to Floyd Zimmerman February 25, 1954 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and he preceded her in death in April 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy McRorey. Surviving are two sons, Steve Zimmerman, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Brad Zimmerman, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Dorothy Kite, Somerville, Tenn., and Norma Jean Matthews, Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Robert McRorey, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and four grandchildren, Hayden, Ashley, Jeff and Jeremy. Mrs. Zimmerman was a life-long resident of Excelsior Springs and was a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School in 1952. For a time she was employed as secretary to the superintendent of Excelsior Springs Schools and then became a homemaker for several years until her children were grown. In 1987 she became a real estate agent and had worked for Re/Max Area Real Estate until her retirement in 2002. Carlene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Old Christian Union Church and a past member of the National Association of Realtors. Her hobbies included reading and traveling. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the family receiving friends at that time.
