Dorothy Jackson
Dorothy Jane Jackson, 85, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Park Lane Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wentzville, Mo. Born May 4, 1924 in Orrick, Mo., she was the daughter of Roy and Tolito Ethyl (Camden) Frank. In 1946 in Kansas she was married to Paul Milton Jackson, who preceded her in death in 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Allen Frank. Surviving are a son, Roy Jackson and wife, Kathryn, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Richard Clifton of Kansas City, Mo., and Daniel Reynolds, Gregory Jackson and Timothy Jackson, all of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Mazie Frank of Richmond, Mo.; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Mrs. Jackson received her education in the Orrick public schools. She moved to Kansas City where she was employed by the VA Hospital for several years and later as a bookkeeper for Job Corps in Excelsior Springs. She and her husband resided in Excelsior Springs for over 50 years and three years ago she moved to St. Louis to be near her son. Dorothy was a member of Siloam Springs Baptist Church where she served as pianist and also in various women’s groups including missions and was very active in the church. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, but most of all spending time with her family, whom she dearly loved. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Siloam Springs Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. The family suggests memorials to Siloam Springs Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Polley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs.
