Karen M. Jackson
Karen Marie Jackson, 66, of Lawson, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at her home. Born March 12, 1943 in Elyria, Ohio, she was the daughter of Theodore James and Bessie Marie (Lathwell) Speigle. On December 16, 1977 in Kansas City, Mo., she was married to Richard Allen Jackson, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Bessie Speigle of Independence, Mo.; five children, Dawn Jones and husband Rick of Windsor, Mo., Dean Stupp of Liberty, Mo., Kathy Ford and husband Dave of Independence, Mo., Matt Jackson and wife Amber of Rayville, Mo., and Laura Romazon and husband Josh of Lawson, Mo.; one sister, Jeannine Wright and husband Lyle of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Ashley Hubbard, Markus Burns, Stephanie Johnson, Sandra Stupp, Katie Holman, Kylah Jackson, Arissa Jackson and Cooper Jackson. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Theodore Speigle, Jr. and Richard Speigle. Mrs. Jackson was a 1961 graduate of Elyria (OH) High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in English from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. She was a business owner, an English teacher, secretary, administrative assistant and customer service manager for various employments throughout her life. She enjoyed baking, singing, catering, floral arranging, church and was well known for her pie making, especially in the Lexington area. Karen was also involved in her church and more than anything spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Washington Street Restoration Branch Church of Excelsior Springs, Mo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Washington Street Restoration Branch Church, 15528 Washington School Road, Excelsior Springs, Mo. 64024 Private inurnment will take place at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the church. Arrangements by Polley Funeral Home of Lawson, Mo.
