Richard Prichard
Richard Gilbert Prichard, 67, of Richmond, Mo., passed away Friday morning February 26, 2010 at his home. Born February 10, 1943 in Excelsior Springs, Mo., he was the son of Robert Carl “Bob” and Mabel Marie (Hill) Prichard. On January 8, 1982 in Richmond, Mo., he was married to Betty Frances Franklin, who survives of the home. Also surviving are three daughters, Julie Baker of Richmond, Mo., Connie Phipps and husband, Warren, of Richmond, Mo., and Cathy Wright and husband, Rusty, of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; one step-daughter, Cheryl Marrant and husband, David, of Orrick, Mo.; one step-son, Jeff Palmer of Richmond, Mo.; one sister, Pat “Trisha” Thompson of Richmond, Mo.; two brothers, Robert Prichard of Rayville, Mo., and David Prichard of Paso Robles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard was raised in rural Ray County and was a 1962 graduate of Lawson High School and resided in Excelsior Springs and Richmond. He had been employed by Avsco Plastics and Ferguson Mfg. For several years he owned and operated his own business, Prichard Company in Richmond. Mr. Prichard enjoyed working and was known for his hard work and many hours of work. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Old Union Christian Union Church near Lawson, Mo. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Polley Funeral Home in Richmond, Mo. Burial will be in Crowley Cemetery at Rayville, Mo. Visitation Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Ray County Hospice.
