WillaGene Fann
WillaGene (Estill) Fann, 83, of Lawson, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo. Born August 29, 1924 in Lawson, Mo., she was the daughter of Lawrence Denny and Mary (Rhodus) Estill. She was married to Isham Hand Fann and to this union one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1969. Surviving are her son, Michael Fann and his wife, Patricia, of Rockville, Md., and two grandsons, Michael Fann, Jr. and Alan Fann, both of Rockville, Md. WillaGene was born and raised in the Lawson community where she attended Lawson Grade School and graduated from there in 1942. She received further education at William Jewell University in Liberty. Following her education, WillaGene lived in various cities throughout the United States including New Orleans, La., Corpus Christi, Texas and Washington, D.C. She had been employed by the Federal Aviation Commission for several years and then was employed for twenty years at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where she was a library clerk. In 1975 she retired and returned to Lawson where she had since resided. WillaGene enjoyed crocheting and she was well known for taking in stray animals and stray people, it didn't matter if they had two legs or four legs, she gave all of them care. She attended the Christian-Presbyterian Church of Lawson and she will be missed by her family and many friends. A graveside committal service will be held Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, Mo. Cremation. There is no public visitation scheduled. Arrangements under the direction of the Polley Funeral Home of Lawson, Mo.
